• Biodynamic farming is a holistic agricultural philosophy that respects the natural rhythms of the earth and seeks balance between soil, plants, and living organisms. When coffee is grown biodynamically and certified by Demeter, it’s not just about high-quality beans — it’s a commitment to ecological and ethical values.
• But what does this mean in practice? What does a biodynamic coffee farm look like? How does this approach affect the taste of coffee — and why are more and more roasteries and consumers interested in it?

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Helsinki Coffee Festival, we are collecting people’s personal coffee memories. Coffee is present in many of life’s most meaningful moments—from weddings to funerals, in joy and sorrow, at work and in everyday life. Coffee moments include falling in love and letting go, discovering yourself and others.

Therapeutic writing professionals Jenni Hurmerinta and Aija Salovaara will host a workshop diving into personal coffee memories at the Coffee Festival on April 26, 2025.

No prior experience or special skills are required, and everyone is welcome. We offer a safe, inclusive space and provide all necessary writing materials.

You are also invited to leave your text on the Coffee Memory Story Wall, which will grow throughout the festival. Selected texts may be used later as part of a multidisciplinary exhibition or book project on coffee memories.
